The Boeing Company   Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

As an assistant curriculum developer of a pilot project for an aircraft maintenance institute in Saudi Arabia, I have developed culturally sensitive course materials appropriate for Saudi students enrolled in the program.

Courses Developed: Aircraft Basic Safety, Tools, Environment, and Aircraft Parts. 

                 Students: Adults 18+_ Level: Beginner

Additional responsibilities include:

Ø Develop and present innovative ideas and solutions to assist management with problematic issues, meeting stringent deadlines, and strategic planning to forecast various goals and objectives to further improve and progress the longevity of the aviation maintenance institute. 

Ø Attend seminars, workshops, and/or conferences of professional English developmental programs to become more effective, knowledgeable, and skillful in fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for all students enrolled in the aviation maintenance EFL program.

Ø Attend meetings, social functions, and other relevant events to establish, develop and maintain  a close working relationship and partnership with the customer, stakeholders, peers, and those in the aircraft maintenance training program.

As an EFL Instructor for ELS, I assessed students throughout four-week sessions, created midterms, finals, and wrote up grade reports. I delivered the curriculum in interactive ways while remaining culturally sensitive.

As a sub-contract agreement with ELS Language Centers, I worked as a full-time EFL Instructor for the Defense Language Institute. I taught General English materials of the American Language Course which consisted of Books 1-18. Each book had four lessons and one review lesson. There was a focus page at the beginning of each lesson, which illustrated the objectives that would be covered in the lesson. Daily homework activities and evaluation exercises were a part of each book.

As an ESL teacher, I taught English to refugee students from different countries. In addition, I assisted them in the process of acculturation by incorporating many aspects of the American culture into the framework of my English instruction, and spending many cultural-immersion hours at the homes of my students.
