Barclays Bank PLC (2012-2014)
I have just finished working as a customer service assistant in the Folkestone (United Kingdom) branch of Barclays Bank. My role was both varied and demanding, requiring of me the utmost professionalism, as well as great customer service. My job revolved largely around communicating with customers clearly about complicated and technical aspects of their accounts. I was also expected to keep my till balanced and due to my accuracy and care, in my time there, had no financial errors.
It was also expected of me to go above and beyond for my customers, and was therefore a role with both significant and varied responsibilities, requiring me to be incredibly reliable, trustworthy and punctual. I am always courteous and help every customer to my full extent, for which extremely good communication skills and teamwork were vital.
Co-operative Group (2008 - 2009)
Working as a customer service assistant I carried out many tasks including working on the checkout, customer assistance and working on the shop floor. I was a punctual and reliable employee who covered almost every extra shift I was asked to. During this time I proved myself to be well organised and capable of managing my time effectively. I carried out my duties in a professional manor, taking care in my appearance and conducting myself with a friendly and approachable attitude.
Throughout my time in this role I conducted myself professionally, always courteous and polite to both customers and staff and I was both reliable and trustworthy.
Chinese Teaching Course (2007)
During the summer of 2007 I taught spoken English to a class of around 30 students aged 16-18 in Heng Shui High School (河北衡水中学), China. I was expected to plan and teach 5 lessons per day for the duration of the summer school, while conducting myself professionally. For me as a 17 year old, the situation faced me with many new challenges, but despite this I was keen to begin and single handedly taught my lessons with great success, seeing marked improvements in my pupils' spoken English. I greatly enjoyed the work and feel I handled the responsibilities with confidence and success. The school was pleased with my work and subsequently asked me to return, although at the time my situation did not allow it.
Blue Pigeons Inn (2006)
As a young boy, I designed and coded a website from scratch using HTML and CSS (which I taught myself) to advertise their services (public house and inn). The website was in use for several years until the property changed hands. During this time I carried out regular updates to meet the clients changing requirements.
The University of Portsmouth (2009-2012)
In 2012 I finished studying towards a degree in computer science at the university of Portsmouth. Although leaving without the full qualification, I achieved
170 Credits at The University of Portsmouth (2009-2012) studying Computer Science at undergraduate level.
