Contributes and assist in the preparation of departmental test questions every grading period. When computers are still unheard of, single-handedly calculates the departmental test scores of the mean, mode, and median of all combined 28 First Year sections.
Always provided colleagues honest but humble suggestions or answers in clearing some misconceptions about a few facts related to recent science lessons. Relied on varied science books of mostly North American origin as a supplement to the single authorized book issued by the government without making the discussion of the lessons bookish. These supplemental books are mostly donated by foreign governments and usually found in public libraries that are rarely read by public school teachers.
Randomly selected freshmen volleyball athletes on the first year stint in public school and trained a few who has the curiosity to learn and improve in volleyball. Although oddly looking in height, the freshmen won as second place in the school’s Intramural Games beating the Juniors and Sophomores.
Introduced and taught two female advisory students in playing tennis where one of them reached the Regional Level competition in 1995. It’s the first time in the history of Mangaldan Natl. High School to reach the Regional Level competition in women’s tennis.
In the summer of 1995 and 1996 with the help of close relatives, conducted acacia seed dispersal on the top of the low-lying mountains of San Manuel, Pangasinan; a sleepy northeastern town approximately 45 kilometers from home. Dispersed acacia seeds are collected and donated by First Year students under my supervision. Sadly, students are left behind because of the restrictions in having a field trip in public schools.
Applied for a loan on Dec. 1996 that was used in buying a 5X86 DOS-based PC to start learning about computers independently. Started from Lotus 123 and Wordstar 5.0. In 1998 while working in Taiwan, further enhanced computer knowledge by learning independently PC assembly and troubleshooting from personal books.
For the first two years in public school, handled other science classrooms in all levels whenever the classroom teacher is absent within the Science department.
Introduced the use of film showing to science students that is related to present science lessons.
