 ·         Vineyards in Provence, France.

Duties: Keeping up with a fast-paced and experienced team; working under time constraints in a challenging foreign environment; ably communicating despite language barriers.

(May – June, 2008 and 2009)

·         Accommodation Service Provider for the University of Kent, Canterbury.

Duties: maintaining guests rooms; giving tours of the campus to new guests; providing a polite

customer service and keeping a respectful appearance and attitude at all times.

(June - September 2010)

·         Oxfam

Duties: working on the tills and sorting/placing stock; providing a polite customer service; being responsible for counting up money at day’s end and closing the shop.

(December 2011 – May 2012)

·         Royal International English (Xi’an, China)

Duties: working as an English teacher, teaching teenagers and adults in three types of classes: Club, Salon and Private. Creating and planning two topics each day for the club classes, formulating conversations in Salon classes, and focusing on vocabulary and grammar in Private lessons.

Extra Work

·         Teaching English to GCSE students; my teacher recommended I help students with learning difficulties. Duties included: explaining new projects/writing assignments and proofreading work. This was volunteer work that I did in college.

·         University Film Society Events Organiser

Organising film screenings to be shown to (potentially) over one hundred paid members of the

society; sending emails to advertise screenings and introducing each film to the screening

attendees; liaising with the Student Union to organise bookings of lecture theatres, and

organising and promoting social events for the society members.

Through my TEFL course, I have gained knowledge on:

As part of my course, I taught a class of 20 young children and I gave one to one lessons to adult students.
