Volunteer with the Community Action Team

University of Strathclyde students Association

I am a volunteer with the community action  team which is a student led action project and has been set up to offer support to various charities and external not for profit organizations. I have been involved in various events including the recruitment of volunteers, carrying out surveys on volunteering awareness during volunteer week at university. I am currently involved in planning the action of the team and future projects it will be supporting.

I was mainly responsible for customer service. Additional responsibility in the kitchen was producing  sandwiches and salads. Gained communicative, interpersonal and customer service skills and also a team spirit under pressure

Assisted with a variety of kitchen-related functions as needed. I also operated cash registered and receives payment from customer in cash or credit card. Greeted customers and took food order, cleaned and stocked work area and customer area. I prepared ingredients cook and heat food, prepare orders.

I worked as a seasonal employee at a fruit processing factory. My objective was the production monitoring and maintenance of fruits. Required to do handiworks at fast pace with my colleagues increasing in this way the quantity and the productivity of the canned fruits. Gained planning and organising skills and also team spirit under pressure as well as personal effectiveness to supervise and perform tasks which required physical strength and collaboration
