Position:   General science and Biology teacher for high school students.

This institute is similar to my previous employment as it provides students with the feeling of western education. Prepare the students with education outside of China. After 3 years at this school they will be provided with help to apply for universities in UK and USA aswell as Canada. I have provided this institute with an option of teaching a new course that had never been taught before. This course is Biology. I used the IGCSE Cambridge international education text book to give the students an option of more sciences. Ive been heavily involved with counselling, Marketing, Parents meetings, homeworks, presentations, practical experiments and much more. I try to give the students a chance to speak out individually to test their speaking skills when being asked a question about science. Science enables the students to broaden the vocab and sentence building, vitally important for academic studies.

Institute: Shenzhen International Foundation College (SIFC) ft.

Position: ESL and Biology teacher for high school students.

This institute provides young students with the knowledge of western education. It prepares them for life in higher education outside of China. Students will then go off to top Universities of their choice. I was teaching Cambridge International examinations (CIE) IGCSE which is Britians education body. Also, I was teaching ESL to students who needed improving with their writing, reading and oral. This institute is seen as one of the top schools in Shenzhen. During my time here I have been responsible for grading their homework, coursework, quizzes and registering their attendance as well as their participation in class. I have also been in charge of laboratory duties. Experiments such as indication of starch in plant leaves. ESL classes involve getting the students to read passages and writing about them. Grammar tests and getting the students to write essays and read them in front of the class. This helps students with reading and become more comfortable as well as more confident with their English abilities.
