(2004-2012) Communications Officer – La Cala Resort (www.lacala.com)
La Cala Resort is Spain’s largest golf resort. My responsibilities included web content, as well as writing, editing and producing all the marketing material, including regular magazines and newsletters. I created databases of specialist journalists, sent weekly press releases, organised press visits and represented the resort in print and electronic interviews. I was responsible for marketing the opening of La Cala’s third 18-hole course (2005), two stagings of the Ladies European Tour Q-school (2006 & 2007), The EuroPro Tour Masters (2008) and the opening of Caracala Spa (2006).
(2003-2004) Editor – Costa del Sol Times – RTB Media Group (www.gruportb.es)
The Costa del Sol Times was an English-language weekly newspaper launched by the RTB Media group. This group owns a number of Spanish TV stations in the province of Málaga. My responsibilities included the writing, sourcing and translation of local news items, commissioning content and dealing with contributors. I also worked on the production of a daily English language news and current affairs TV programme.

I worked as a technical writer with NETg Ireland, a multinational company which produced computer-based training courses for IT professionals, covering a wide range of subjects from data communications software to Internet browsers.

WLRfm is the independent radio station for the south east of Ireland. Initially working as a reporter, I was appointed Head of News and Sport within six months. WLRfm employs four full-time journalists and has almost twenty sports correspondents. As part of my duties I covered the Irish Open from 1993 to 1997. In addition to editing the station’s news and sports output, I was also one of a four-strong management team that planned the development of all aspects of the radio station.
